In recent days, I've noticed a troubling trend … a wave of criticism and outright abandonment directed at President Trump and Melania Trump. It’s abandonment in the highest order of the ones WE CHOSE. These are the very leaders our nation overwhelmingly chose to represent us, entrusting them with the immense responsibility of guiding America forward. Yet, the moment something is even perceived as wrong … they're swiftly cast aside by many. Some of this backlash comes from paid protesters and professional disruptors, orchestrated to sow division. But sadly and more disturbing, much of it stems from a deeper issue … a lack of faith and action from the very people who voted them into power. Supporters, too often falter in our resolve, allowing doubt to erode our commitment. Judas was a traitor who betrayed his friend because Jesus didn’t live up to his expectations. Further he couldn’t live with the damage he did to his friend over 30 pieces of silver. GUILTY

It's easy to point fingers and join the chorus of complaints, but it's time for a spiritually mature different approach, one rooted in wisdom, forgiveness, and unshakeable resolve. We can draw inspiration from the Bible, where God repeatedly used imperfect individuals to achieve His plan for humanity.

In our current political climate, where leaders like President Trump face relentless attacks. Are we letting propaganda paint them into an evil character of the propaganda artist’s framing? Are we subject to being blown around by the propaganda wind?

President Trump and Melania have faced exile-like criticism, often amplified by a media that thrives on division.

The mainstream media and social influencers often push narratives designed to divide us, portraying every misstep as unforgivable. But we need to look past this propaganda and discern truth for ourselves. As Proverbs 14:15 warns, "The simple believes everything, but the prudent gives thought to his steps." Don't let sensational headlines erode your faith … verify, pray, and act.

This isn't about blind allegiance; it's about being helpful rather than blaming or complaining. The Bible calls us to "bear one another's burdens" (Galatians 6:2) and to "stand firm in the faith" (1 Corinthians 16:13). If we truly believe in the leaders we elected, it's up to us to make the changes needed. That means engaging in our communities, voting with conviction, countering misinformation, and supporting policies that align with our values. Abandonment in tough times only empowers the disruptors.

In the end, God uses us … the imperfect to fulfill His plans. Let's extend that grace to President Trump and Melania, standing strong until the end. Our nation depends on it—not on flawless heroes, but on faithful supporters who refuse to waver.

We really can’t relate to the burdens he carries on a daily basis … until you walk in another’s shoes, it’s probably time for tongues to be tamed and just get to work.

This might be scary to some people but tomorrow was never promised. I’m glad. Our world is overrun with liars, cheats and murderers. So the question is do we stay where we are or get really good at sailing into an unknown future trusting God to lead the way?

The damage that was done to the 2022 election in Michigan moves into sentencing. This wasn’t just damage to myself and my family … it affected every citizen in Michigan. The election was compromised. It was a fraud. Our voices were silenced.

Shawn Wilmoth's sentencing is scheduled for March 18, 2026 (tomorrow, based on the current date), in the 16th Judicial Circuit Court in Macomb County, Michigan. This is the felony-level court where the trial and conviction occurred (he was found guilty by a Macomb County jury in February 2026 of charges including conducting a criminal enterprise related to a 2022 election signature fraud scheme).

Today I pray maximum justice will be served to the first domino in the fraudulent election of 2022. Today in Macomb County Circuit Court, Shawn Wilmoth — the ringleader of the 2022 primary ballot signature fraud scheme — was sentenced to at least four years (up to 20) in prison for conducting a criminal enterprise, election law forgery, and multiple counts of false pretenses. His co-defendant, Willie Reed, was not present and will be sentenced at a later date.

The defendants are appealing the convictions, and Wilmoth has been allowed to remain free on bond during the appeals process.

While today's sentencing brings further accountability, the real win for justice came on February 9, 2026, when a Macomb County jury delivered guilty verdicts against both Wilmoth and Reed after a thorough trial. That moment defined fraud in the 2022 election would not stand.

I was the only candidate who showed up to all and testify during all the proceedings and the only one today to deliver a victim impact statement at the sentencing hearing. No other candidates appeared in court to give a statement.

This outcome is not a personal win for me. Justice served — starting with the jury's verdict — is a victory for every single citizen of Michigan. This fraud didn’t just steal time, money, and opportunity from candidates — it robbed voters of real choices on the ballot, undermined faith in our elections, and struck at the very heart of our democracy. What happened was a betrayal of the public trust, not a simple paperwork error.

As I told the court: “What they did was not a simple business dispute or paperwork error. It was a betrayal that struck at the heart of our elections.”

Grateful to the jury for their verdict, the prosecutors, and Judge James Maceroni for upholding the rule of law. This reaffirms that fraud against our honest election process will face consequences. We must continue fighting for clean, fair elections so every Michigan voter can have confidence in the system that belongs to all of us!

Your Honor,

Thank you for this opportunity to speak today as a victim in this case. I am Donna Brandenburg, as one of the many candidates whose campaigns, reputations, families, and futures were shattered by the criminal actions of Shawn Wilmoth and Willie Reed. What they did was not a simple business dispute or a paperwork error … it was a deliberate, calculated betrayal that struck at the heart of our elections. Today, as you deliver justice, I stand before you because truth is finally having its day and Michigan’s voters deserve to know the full cost of this treasonous scheme.

Let me speak plainly about the damages, because words alone cannot capture the depth of what was stolen.

Financially, the least of it was the money we directly paid Shawn Wilmoth’s and his company for what we believed were legitimate petition signatures. Far greater were the devastating fallout to our businesses and personal reputations. Campaigns were cut short overnight. Time, energy, and resources poured into a race vanished in an instant. Doors that had opened slammed shut. The reputational harm rippled through every aspect of our livelihoods, costing far more than any dollar figure can easily tally.

Though I did my due diligence by calling the bureau of Elections which gave an implied endorsement … I was maligned by everyone right up to the AGs personal statement that I had not.

Psychologically, the damage to me and my family is incalculable. Instead of directing their anger at the real criminals, people turned their attack and disdain on me and my family. I was tried in the court of public opinion before any facts emerged—called every name under the sun for crimes I did not commit. The media viciously amplified lies while the truth stayed buried. I lost friends. I lost family. I was ostracized by Republicans and Democrats alike. My rights to a voice, to run for office in an honest, free, and fair election, were completely destroyed. Even after courts—I sued in circuit court … the Michigan Supreme Court
… and federal court—proved my complete innocence and confirmed the removal from the ballot was illegal, the public never heard that exoneration. The psychological scars remain. My family still carries the weight of that public humiliation every single day.

But the deepest wound goes far beyond me. This was an attack on every single citizen of Michigan and on the American election process itself. Shawn Wilmoth and Willie Reed did not just rob me … they robbed millions of Michigan voters of their fundamental right to choose their candidates. They exposed the first glaring vulnerability in our signature-collection system and proved how easily it could be weaponized. History itself was altered. The course of the 2022 election changed because of their greed. And there has been no full remedy for any of us, despite lawsuits in circuit court, the Michigan Supreme Court, and federal court.

Let us not forget the state’s own role. State and election leadership in Michigan chose to withhold critical information about the suspected fraud until it was virtually too late for affected candidates to correct course. That delay compounded the betrayal and silenced voices that deserved to be heard.

Shawn Wilmoth and Willie Reed put money ahead of honor, self-gain ahead of every American’s sacred right to participate in free elections. Their actions rise to the level of a traitor like Benedict Arnold … men who sold out their country, their fellow citizens, and the very foundation of our republic for personal profit. They didn’t just defraud campaigns; they defrauded America itself.

I have talked to many many people who vow to never vote again because they have stopped believing in an honest system of representation which was the result of the actions of Shawn and Willie.

Yet here is the inspiring truth that rises above every scar: We are still standing. Today’s sentencing is proof that justice, though delayed, still has a chance to not be denied.

My fight … and the conviction that brought us here … sends a powerful message to every future candidate and every voter: the American spirit cannot be silenced. Truth prevails. Elections can be protected if we refuse to capitulate to evil. And when ordinary citizens refuse to stay silent, we expose corruption and make our republic stronger than ever before.
